Determination of Winners – 2025 Move On Up Gospel Sing-Off

Competing Finalists will be judged by an independent panel of judges on the following criteria:

• Presence – 30% of Score (1-10)
  Enthusiasm, connection to the audience, general appearance (uniformity and professional behavior)
• Technical Merit – 40% of Score (1-10)
  Clarity, naturalness, purity of vowel and articulation, tone, quality, consistency, projection, vitality, rhythmic accuracy, control, evenness of vocal line and conductor’s ability to communicate to the choir.
• Originality/best Interpretation – 30% of Score (1-10)
  Dynamic style, artistry, expression, and musical interpretation
  

The voting process will be conducted by a panel of judges under the supervision of BSACAM.  The judges shall choose the Winners in their sole discretion whose decision is final and binding. Each choir will be independently scored by judges using the criteria listed above. Scores will be tallied by an independent CPA under the supervision of BSACAM.

The Finalists with the highest cumulative score in each category will be selected as the Winner and Runner Up.

Prizes

Winners will be selected to receive a cash prize in the amount listed as follows:

• Best Gospel Choir Winner will receive a check for $10,000
• Runner Up will receive a check for $5,000

Federal and state taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners.

• No substitution or transfer of prizes permitted except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.
• If any Entrant is disqualified or found to be ineligible for the contest, BSACAM reserves the right to determine an alternate Finalist or Winner or not to award the prize at its sole discretion.
• Prize distribution to the runner up and winning choir/praise team will be announced immediately following the final tallying and confirmation of scores. A completed, valid w9 must be submitted by an authorized, designated representative of the choir in order to distribute the check.  
• Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the Finals.
• Awards (checks) will be available for pick up or mailed if this is preferred the week following the event provided all paperwork has been completed and submitted in advance. 
• Award checks will be executed and mailed to the address on the completed W9.
• Awards must be used for the intended purpose of supporting the Choir and not for individual use.
• Winners of the 2025 Move On Up Gospel Sing-Off are prevented from participating in the contest again for a period of one year. 
• Winners agree to have their photo taken and used for promotional purposes.
