Due to the current public health emergency, the museum is closed until further notice.

“Springsteen: His Hometown” displays over 150 unique items featuring selections from both the Monmouth County Historical Association and The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University. Items displayed to include:

  • Personal scrapbook made by Bruce Springsteen’s mother, Adele
  • 1943 High School Yearbook of Bruce Springsteen’s mother, Adele.
  • 19th Century Civil War document that includes Alexander Springsteen of lineal descent to Bruce Springsteen.
  • 1801 document signed by John Springsteen, a patriot of the Revolution and direct ancestor to Bruce Springsteen.
  • Original color poster from The Castiles, Bruce Springsteen’s first band that originated in Freehold.
  • 4-Track recorder used to record the album Nebraska.

The exhibition is presented by the Monmouth County Historical Association in cooperation with The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University. Tickets are NOT date restricted. Your purchased ticket is valid until December 2020. Once it’s scanned, it becomes null and void. Groups of 30 or more must call 732-462-1466 for tickets.  Disclaimer: Please call ahead on your planned day of visit to ensure museum hours. This ticket is for one (1) day admission ticket only. After checked in, it will be null and void. There is a 2 hour street parking available. You can also park at the Court House which is walking distance from the museum.  Floor two is not handicap accessible.
